Key Highlights
Non-Residential Rebate Programs: The webinar detailed the various energy efficiency incentive programs available for non-residential NYSEG and RG&E customers. These programs offer incentives for facility upgrades and the installation of equipment that results in lasting energy savings. Eligible customers include commercial, industrial, small business, government, municipalities, and agricultural sectors.
Program Portfolio: The portfolio includes mature programs like the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Rebates Program (since 2016) and the Small Business (SB) Rebates Program (since 2022). Newer additions from 2024 include the Instant Discount Program, Retrocommissioning Program (RCx), and the Energy Management Partnership Program (EMP).
Lighting Updates: Significant changes were announced for the lighting programs, including a transition to DLC-rated devices for CI and SB Track Lighting & Wall-Wash Fixtures, with a grace period through March 31, 2025, for Energy Star-rated devices. Adjustments to lighting incentives were also discussed, with some SB lighting rates reduced due to high incentive-to-cost ratios.
New Measures and Changes: The webinar introduced new measures such as combination "Combi" boilers and furnaces, and kitchen demand-controlled ventilation (KDCV). Changes to existing measures included higher efficiency requirements for unitary HVAC systems and the removal of prescriptive rebates for certain water pumps and cooling tower fans.
Application Process: Participants were guided through the application process, emphasizing the importance of pre-approval for custom projects and the availability of flexible payment options. The webinar also highlighted the benefits of joining the Trade Ally Network, which offers exclusive updates, recognition awards, and a contractor listing tool.
The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to clarify any questions and gain a deeper understanding of the 2025 programs. The recording of the webinar is available for those who missed the live session, ensuring that all interested parties can stay informed about the latest developments in energy efficiency incentives.
